About Us

The Directors

Our firm was established in Bromley by Brian Grugeon in the 1930s.  The directors, Andrew Roberts and Karen Cheeseman, are now responsible for running the practice since the retirement of Malcolm Porter on 30 April 2009.  We continue the firm's tradition as accountants who provide a service tailored to the specific needs of our clients.  Andrew has many years of experience in providing accounts, audit, tax planning and business services to a wide range of clients, in Bromley, Beckenham, Croydon, Orpington, Chislehurst, Sidcup and beyond. He trained with a City firm of Chartered Accountants and is heavily involved in corporate accounts and strategic planning, with a particular interest in IT.  Karen started out with a firm of Chartered Accountants with offices in Dartford, Ruislip and Temple Chambers.  Formerly she was the Practice Tax Manager and has been with the firm since 1987.  She thrives on dealing with small businesses and has particular expertise in the preparation and timely submission of personal and partnership Tax Returns.

Other Professional Staff

Andrew and Karen are supported by a number of key employees who together draw on substantial levels of experience to provide a continuity of high quality service for our clients.  Lloyd Trevillion is a keen member of the business services team, with wide experience of the Construction Industry, amongst many others.  He is our longest standing employee, joining the practice in 1984.  Mandy O'Neill looks after the accounting needs of some of our smaller clients and joined us as a part qualified accountant in 1987.  Debbie Salisbury, a qualified Accounting Technician, provides further accounting support.  She has been with us since 1997, gaining detailed knowledge of the use of QuickBooks in monitoring project performance.  Clare Higgins is one of our seasoned Sage users and also works with Lloyd in running our payroll bureau service.  Clare joined us on leaving college with her accounting qualification in 1998.  Jill Phillips arrived in 2003 to gain practical accounting experience following completion of her Accounting Technician examinations.  We are an expanding firm and have been pleased to recently recruit Emma Fagg for business support services and Daniel Reed as a trainee accountant.  The team would not be complete without Jane Ford who provides administrative support.  She is specifically responsible for Company Secretarial work and has been the friendly voice at the end of the phone since March 2008.  Her degree in computing has been put to good use in keeping the office network running at optimum levels and we call her when the screens go blank!
